Fly Emirates Airlines



Emirates Airline also called Emirates is a subsidiary of Dubai based company Emirates Group. Ranked as the biggest airline in the Middle East in terms of revenue, fleet size and passenger carried, the airline has its main base at Dubai International Airport. Emirates is the eighth largest airline in Asia in terms of passengers carried and ranked among the world's top 10 air carriers in terms of revenue. Presently, Emirates operates around 3, 715 flights per week, connecting over 100 destinations in 62 countries. Emirates is one of only six airlines in the world to operate a fleet of all wide-body aircraft.

History
Emirates Airline was established by the Dubai government on 25th May, 1985. The airline began operations with flights to Karachi and Mumbai. In September, 1985, Emirates started its flight for Delhi. Initially, Emirates leased two aircraft, namely Airbus A300 and Boeing 737-700 from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Further, two Boeing 727 - 200 advanced aircraft were taken on lease from the UAE's Royal Flight. In July 1987, Emirates extended its services to Europe, with first flight to London Gatwick. In June 1990, Emirates Airline commenced its operations to Singapore. On 28 July 2008, Emirates received its first Airbus A380 aircraft and became the world's second airline to fly the Airbus A380 after Singapore Airlines.

Emirates Codeshare Agreements
Emirates has codeshare agreements with a number of international airlines such as Air India, Air Malta, Air Mauritius, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Korean Air, Oman Air, Philippine Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, South African Airways and Thai Airways International.

Emirates Destinations
Presently Emirates offers its services to international destinations only and does not operate any domestic flight within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Some of important destinations covered by Emirates are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Dhaka, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Colombo, Male, Beijing, Hong Kong, Teheran, Beirut, Muscat, Doha, Amman, Manama, Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh, Athens, Rome, Zurich, London, Birmingham, Toronto, New York, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Brazil.



Emirates Fleet
Emirates Airline fleet consists of four aircraft families, namely Boeing 777, Airbus A330, Airbus A340 and Airbus A380. Currently, Emirates has a fleet of 118 aircraft including 38 Boeing 777 - 300 ER, 12 Boeing 777 - 300, 8 Boeing 777 - 200LR, 4 Boeing 777 - 200ER, 5 Boeing 777 - 200, 4 Airbus A380 - 800, 29 Airbus A330 - 200, 10 Airbus A340 - 500 and 8 Airbus A340 - 300.
